Adult Learning

General French classes

General French classes build onto each other. Each class has 32 hours of instructional time. Regular classes meet twice a week for eight weeks, two hours each time. Fast track classes meet twice a week for four weeks, 3.5 hours each time or once a week for four hours. Intensive classes meet four times a week for two weeks, four hours each time. Emphasis is on oral and written comprehension, production and interaction. A placement test is required for all prospective students who have studied French before. The Alter Ego Plus series published by Hachette (available for purchase at AFDC)

Language Workshops

Language workshops start at CEF level A2 (100+ through 500+ levels). Workshops have a total of 16 instructional hours and meet once a week for two hours each time. Each workshop targets specific language skills, such as grammar, conversation, translation, and/or intercultural competencies, such as literature, news, business French, history, cinema, and art. Workshops are offered in Drop-In format with the French@Go-Go pass. A placement test is required for all prospective students who have studied French before.
