Group Classes

The Alliance Française offers classes for children ages 1-18. The school year is divided in three sessions: Fall, Winter and Spring. Exact dates can be found here. Your kid or teen will need to take a placement test if they have been exposed to the French language. Classes meet once a week:

  • 1 hour for children ages 1-5
  • 1.5 hours for children ages 5-12
  • 2 hours for children 12+

For ages 5+, students use books depending on their age and level. They keep the same books from September to June. In summer, we offer different programs: Saturday classes for little ones (ages 1 – 5); Summer Camps for Children ages 5-11; Reviews or Preps for Teenagers.

2018 - 19 school year: For ages 6+: save $100 by registering for the entire year at once ! The only way to take advantage of this discount is by calling us at 202-234-7911.

Camps

Camps

Full immersion French camps are a great way to keep your kids active and up to speed in the language practice over the summer, spring or fall! In the school year, we also have Day Camps when schools are closed for holidays or teacher trainings. Specialized instructors provide campers with a continuous mix of games, activities and projects designed to build vocabulary and conversational ability. Our Camps are open to children ages 5 to 11, from beginner to bilingual. Campers are divided into 2 or 3 groups according to their level.
