Following official information received yesterday pertaining to the Plan Vigipirate, applicable to all governmental and non-governmental institutions with a link to France, the  Alliance Francaise of Washington DC reserves the right to ask first-time visitors for their government-issue ID when they enter the building.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding. This procedure is temporary but will remain in place until further notice.

On-Site Classes

Group Classes

The school year is divided in three sessions: Fall, Winter and Spring. Exact dates can be found here. Your kid or teen will need to take a placement test if they have been exposed to the French language. Classes meet once a week:

  • 1 hour for children ages 1-5
  • 1.5 hours for children ages 5-12
  • 2 hours for children 12+

For ages 5+, students use books depending on their age and level. They keep the same books from September to June. In summer, we offer different programs: Saturday classes for little ones (ages 1 – 5); Summer Camps for Children ages 5-11; Reviews or Preps for Teenagers.

Children age 12 and up MUST be vaccinated (and boosted when applicable/eligible) against Covid19.

Camps

Camps

Full immersion French camps are a great way to keep your kids active and up to speed in the language practice over the summer, spring or fall! In the school year, we also have Day Camps when schools are closed for holidays or teacher trainings. Specialized instructors provide campers with a continuous mix of games, activities and projects designed to build vocabulary and conversational ability. Our Camps are open to children ages 5 to 11, from beginner to bilingual. Campers are divided into 2 or 3 groups according to their level.
