Non-teaching Positions
Current Open Positions:
- Part-Time Hourly Receptionist: Mondays thru Thursdays: 4:00 to 6:30pm and 2 Fridays per month, 8:30am to 4:30pm

General Criteria (in addition to position-specific skills)
- NO POSITION IS OPEN TO SPONSORIZATION: Candidate must be either an American citizen, or a resident (Green Card) or already has a visa authorizing them to work in the US.
- Covid19 vaccination+booster is mandatory; masking is optional.
Teaching Opportunities
- Part-time Hourly French Teacher Adult classes
- Part-Time Hourly French Teacher for children ages 1-18
REQUIREMENTS
For Adult classes:
- Master FLE or DAEFLE.
- Hours:
- Monday-Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm IN PERSON and
- Saturdays, 9:00am-1:00pm ONLINE
For an instructor position in the Children’s Programs, additional requirements apply:
- Early Childhood Education diploma, DAEFLE option Children or experience teaching French in an elementary school in a francophone country.
- Hours: Saturdays from 9:00am-5:00pm IN PERSON
For all non-native speakers of French language wanting to teach French, additional requirements apply:
- DALF C1 (minimum) or DALF C2 (preferred) as proof of fluency level for a non-native speaker of French.

The dedicated team of volunteers at the Alliance Française de Washington helps ensure the efficiency and quality of the many programs and services offered by the organization.
Volunteers at the Alliance work in the library/médiathèque, at cultural events, and in the administrative offices. Projects always vary, but volunteers may be asked to carry out such tasks as: shelving books, setting up and breaking down events, serving food and beverages, directing visitors in the library and guests at events, updating databases, prepping development documents, assisting with fundraising events, and more.

Volunteering with the Alliance is an opportunity to engage yourself in DC’s Francophone community with others who share the same interests and passions as you. Volunteers not only provide valuable to support to the Alliance staff, but also serve as ambassadors for the Alliance to the general public.
