  • French identity politics discussion, 12/05

    French identity politics with ICWA fellow Karina Piser

    Thursday 5th December 2019 — 12:00pm to 1:30pm

    Please join us at the Alliance Française of Washington, DC for ICWA fellow and journalist Karina Piser's discussion about French identity politics, in which Karina will report about French government initiatives to promote the state policy of secularism and Muslim integration in the aftermath of the 2015 and 2016 terrorist attacks.

    Following her talk, Karina join panel discussion on migration and identity politics with former ICWA fellows Malia Politzer (Spain, 2013-2015) and Jean-Benoit Nadeau (France, 1998-2000), moderated by ICWA trustee Pascal Saura.

    Bienvenue! You are invited to the Alliance Française to discover our programs for children from 1 to 18-years-old! Visit our beautiful building and classrooms dedicated to babies and toddlers. Meet our experienced teachers, native speakers trained to teach French in full immersion. Listen to a few songs in our warm and welcoming library and introduce your child to French and francophone culture through a comic books, novels and movies. Children can also attend one of our mini-classes to get a taste for French language classes at the Alliance. And for those who are interested in registering, placement tests will be available for classes beginning in September.

    Not sure what your level of French is?  Do the free placement test online or join us for one of our on-site placement test nights!             Take the Placement Test now

    The next Placement Test Night will be on November 20 from 5:30 to 9:00 pm for the Adult Winter Session  The evening is open house style so come take the test (typically ~20 minutes for the written part), meet the staff, and enjoy refreshments after.

    Come join us at AFDC and fine-tune your grammar in these three-hour review sessions.  Each Boot Camp review will take place twice, once in the morning and once in the evening so you can't miss out!  These Boot Camps are intended as a review for certain aspects of French grammar, so pick and choose what you need help with!
