    Virtual Concert with Benjamin Piat

    AFDC invites you to an interactive virtual concert with French singer-songwriter, Benjamin Piat, who will be performing LIVE from his studio in France. Benjamin will present his new album “Eldorado” full of vibrant Latin dance melodies. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during intermissions. Benjamin will sing in French and interact in French and English.

    Come join us to dance and sing along on the eve of the Fête de la Musique !

    Anina Belle Giannini, author of Le Chef's Wife blog, American-Canadian hotelier, writer and passionate cook, who brings southern French cuisine to D.C., is back for another fun (online) cooking demo. Join us for a Bastille Day Picnic! Anina Belle will share her secret of an easy homemade baguette and show how to make a Provençal classic, Le Grand Aioli, perfect for a relaxing and convivial summer picnic.

    This event will be in English including some French cooking terms, and will last for about 2 hours. The menu and the shopping list will be communicated in advance to all the participants. We expect you to cook (and bake!) along, but if you don't want to put on an apron, you are welcome to just join in, watch, sip on a glass of rosé, take notes of precious French cooking tips from Le Chef's Wife and ask any questions you may have.

    The AFDC Libary is back!

    We are delighted to announce that beginning in April 2021, the Alliance Française DC Library will offer 10 minute click-&-collect appointments two times per month.The next pick-up date is Saturday, April 24th!

    How does it work?

    1. Connect to your AFDC Library account through our online catalog. 
    2. Reserve your desired items by clicking on the green "Reserve" button next to eligible titles. 
    3. Once you have submitted your reservations, using the pre-set dates below, choose the day and time that you would like. You will then need to send a e-mail to with your selected timeslot. 
    4. On the day of your pick-up appointment, you will receive an e-mail from the library confirming your reservation and the contactless pick-up. 
    5. You may also submit your reservations and desired timeslot by e-mail to
