This competition is open exclusively to REGISTERED CURRENT STUDENTS OF THE AFDC

Le DEFI Inter-Alliances is back!

The DEFI Inter-Alliances is an online competition among students of the Alliance Française chapters around the world. Participants compete with each other to answer questions on French and Francophone cultures: art, gastronomy, history, music, sport, etc.

The competition consists of three rounds, all of which will take place online:

• Our local round will take place on Friday, November 10 at 5:00 p.m. EST. AFDC participants will be asked to answer a 20-question quiz.
• The 2 winners will represent AFDC during the national round (25 questions) which will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. EST. They will face the winners of other Alliances in the US.
• The 2 national winners will participate in the international final round (30 questions) on Sunday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. Paris. They will face participants from all over the world!

Conditions for participation

• Be a currently registered student of the AFDC, 16+ years old with French language level A2+. All rounds will be held in French.
• Make sure you are available for the 3 stages of the competition.
• You will need a computer with access to Zoom and the Kahoot application (it's free!) installed on your smartphone (to answer questions in real time).
• Participants who won the national final round of the previous edition cannot take part in this year’s edition.

Prizes

The three winners of the international final round will win a 15-day trip to learn French at one of the Alliance Française chapters in France (accommodation and transport included)!

The two winners of the local round will win a voucher towards French classes at the AFDC ($100 voucher for the first winner, and $60 for the second).
