The Alliance Française of Washington, DC will be hosting Dr. Tristan Cabello (Johns Hopkins University) and Dr. Pap Ndiaye (Sciences Po Paris) for a discussion on Black Lives Matter movement in France and the USA.

About the speakers

Tristan Cabello

Dr. Tristan Cabello is a historian of American cultures and politics. His research examines social movements, with a focus on the intersection of race, sexuality, and politics. He is currently completing a book on Black Lives Matter, and teaches history and critical theory at Johns Hopkins University.

Pap Ndiaye

Dr. Pap Ndiaye is a historian of US history, specialized in African American history. He also works on the history and sociology of Afro descendants in France. He holds an MA from the University of Virginia, and a Ph. D. from the EHESS (Paris). Dr. Ndiaye has been a visiting professor at New York University and Northwestern University. He is currently working at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Paris) on a history of global civil rights in the 20th century.
