At the Alliance Francaise, Culture knows no barriers: Culture is for all and welcomes all!
I have been teaching language and literature classes at the Alliance for almost three years now, and I am very much enjoying it. I think what I love most is the fact that I get to meet so many interesting people, and this is very enriching. Every class is different, I am learning something new every day. My favorite class so far has been a literature class during which we read short stories that I had discovered when I was in high school. I also enjoy the 101 classes because they are more challenging, and it is always a pleasure to see students progress from the very beginning.
I have been teaching at the Alliance Francaise since 2015. I enjoy teaching at the Alliance because I am able to interact with people of various backgrounds from young professionals and students to retired civil service employees. When I tell my beginner students on the first day of class that we teach in French only and English is off-limits, some of them get very nervous! As the session progresses, I can see the tremendous progress they make after just a few short weeks of French class. It is like magic—the students quickly move from not speaking or barely speaking French to using simple expressions. The unique interactive blackboard used at the Alliance is a great tool and makes teaching exciting and enjoyable for both teacher and student.
